Wait on top of the pipe for the stones to collapse completely, then count out "one-one-thousand" before pressing DOWN to enter the pipe. Time it wrong and you'll get caught between the stones and lose a life. Shell Mario can go one further, breaking the blocks along the floor to reach a warp cannon (it'll send you all the way to World 5).Īt the top of the tower is a pipe that'll shoot Mario upwards and between the two large, collapsing stones. You can jump into the gap to reach a hidden area with a 1-Up (smash the invisible blocks as soon as you enter the room). When in the hidden room with the second Star Coin, notice a small gap in the upper-right corner of the room that's never closed by the shifting blocks. Jump upwards with the shifting horizontal blocks to find the final Star Coin. Carefully land and make your way to the door to return to the main tower.Īt the same place mentioned above, where the tower path splits in two directions, take the path on the right. The easiest way to grab the Star Coin is to get to the lower-right corner and wall-jump off the shifting blocks above you. Wall jump to the door to enter a room with shifting blocks. You'll see a door to the right as you slide down. As you come down, slide against the left wall. Go into the tube to the left and it'll catapult Mario upwards through the vertical passage. You can't drop through the platforms after you've jumped on top of them.Īt about the halfway point, the path splits in two directions. Just make sure you don't jump on the platforms to the left before grabbing the Star Coin. The first Star Coin can be seen as you move up the beginning portion of the tower, about one third of the way up.
